First things first, get a formal education in cosmetology and be licensed. Remember though that every State has different requirements for the said permit. When you visit a MAC Store, ask if you can directly talk to the Store Manager. Inform them about your interest in becoming a MAC Makeup Artist. Have your portfolio with you so you have something to show just in case they would want to see your work.

For these positions, you would need a professional work experience. To become a Senior MAC Makeup Artist or a member of the MAC Pro Team you will need to send your application to their New York office.
